Striped Bass Report April 2024

We've been out 3 days this week and we have had steady temperatures in the mid 40s. The fish have been slow in the Raritan bay, but have been picking up some smaller fish on umbrella rigs in shallow waters. With the air temperatures heating up we anticipate the water temps to climb into the 50s in the next 10 days or so where we will likely see larger fish migrating up from the Chesapeake and being landed in the ocean off the coast.

As an aside-we've seen a few people in our network out trolling ballyhoo for the early season bluefin run and have seen 4-5 fish landed up to 750lbs this week. We are going to do some exploring this week to see if we can hook something big.
